This is one of my favorite movies. My parents are from the
60’s and 70’s therefore, as a child I grow up listening to rock and roll and southern
rock from this era. The movie kind of reminds me of some of the stories and music
they forced me to listen to. After awhile your parent’s music sticks and becomes
a part of your childhood.
I am not in any aspect a musician or have I ever studied music. I am purely a music lover. This blog is just a collection of different songs that I like or love to hate. It includes my personal stories about a particular song, facts as well as articles that I find interesting about the artist or piece of music, various kinds of music videos and song lyrics along with other works from the artist. To sum it up it’s pretty much my taste in music good or bad.

Bob Dylan- You're gonna make me lonesome when you go-Lyrics

I love an artist that is poetic and Bob Dylan is an amazing
song writer. I am taking a creative writing class where we are studying how to
write poetry and trust me it’s hard to rhyme the same word over and over
without making up a word like Dr. Seuss or not making any since what so ever. I
catch myself all the time either humming this tune or singing the lyrics to the
song out loud to myself. It is common place in my shower. This song happens to
be my favorite of Bob Dylan but he has other really good songs to and some I
have yet to discover. ~ KS
I’ve seen love go by my door
It’s never been this close before
Never been so easy or so slow
Been shooting in the dark too long
When somethin’s not right it’s wrong
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go
Dragon clouds so high above
I’ve only known careless love
It’s always hit me from below
This time around it’s more correct
Right on target, so direct
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go
Purple clover, Queen Anne’s Lace
Crimson hair across your face
You could make me cry if you don’t know
Can’t remember what I was thinkin’ of
You might be spoilin’ me too much, love
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go
Flowers on the hillside, bloomin’ crazy
Crickets talkin’ back and forth in rhyme
Blue river runnin’ slow and lazy
I could stay with you forever and never realize the time
Situations have ended sad
Relationships have all been bad
Mine’ve been like Verlaine’s and Rimbaud
But there’s no way I can compare
All those scenes to this affair
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go
Yer gonna make me wonder what I’m doin’
Stayin’ far behind without you
Yer gonna make me wonder what I’m sayin’
Yer gonna make me give myself a good talkin’ to
I’ll look for you in old Honolulu
San Francisco, Ashtabula
Yer gonna have to leave me now, I know
But I’ll see you in the sky above
In the tall grass, in the ones I love
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go
Miley Cyrus featuring Johnzo West - "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When ...
I tried to find the actual Bob Dylan version but all I could find was covers of the song. Even though I would rather have The Original Bob Dylan song I picked Miley Cyrus’s adaptation because she put a unique sad twist to the song where as Bob Dylan’s original melody was more upbeat.

Bonamassa was born and raised in New Hartford, New York. His parents owned and ran a guitar shop. He is a fourth-generation musician; with a great-grandfather and grandfather who both played trumpet, and a father who plays guitar, Bonamassa credits his parents with fostering an appreciation of music in his life as early as he can remember. When he was a young child, he would listen to his parents' large record collection. He recalls at age 7, sitting with his parents on Saturdays and listening to Guitar Slim, Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Eric Clapton, and Jethro Tull. Thus, he sees his music as an amalgam of all the various rock and blues he heard as a child.[8]
He received his first guitar from his father at the age of 4, and by age 7 he was playing Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix tunes note for note. At the age of 11, during a short period of being mentored by Danny Gatton, he learned such styles as country and jazz as well as polka. During this time with Gatton, Bonamassa sat in with Gatton's band whenever they played in New York. He first opened for B. B. King at 12 years of age. At 14, he was invited to attend a Fender guitar event; during that trip to the West Coast he met Berry Oakley, Jr., with whom he founded the group Bloodline, along with Miles Davis' son Erin and Robby Krieger's son Waylon. They released one album which produced two chart singles — "Stone Cold Hearted", and "Dixie Peach." He has since played with Buddy Guy, Foreigner, Robert Cray, Stephen Stills, Joe Cocker, Gregg Allman, Steve Winwood, Paul Jones, Steve Lukather, Ted Nugent, Warren Haynes, Eric Clapton, Derek Trucks, Eric Johnson, and Jack Bruce.
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe gin @ Royal Albert Hall
This is my midnight melody. When I can’t sleep this is the song that I put on repeat on my IPod to calm my thoughts. The instrumentals are what I love about the song. You could take out all the vocals and still know exactly what the song is trying to say.
Etta James - Trust In Me
Etta James is an icon
with a natural powerful voice. She could express her emotions threw her voice
in a way that most singers don’t have the ability to do. Artist these days are
so auto corrected and toned that it takes away from the natural beauty of the
voice. Just listening to this song brings forth goose bumps. You can hear the
how powerfully compelling her sing was and the anger as well as the desperation
in her pitch.

Give me your music suggestions
Viewers please feel
free to suggest any music that interests you. I like to venture out of my musical comfort zone as well as
explore other styles and I don’t discriminate against any type of
music. Like I said in my description I’m a music lover and welcome all varieties.
Even though Dubstep hasn’t appealed to me so far but it might wear me down in
the long run (Highly doubtful though).
MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - THRIFT SHOP FEAT. WANZ (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
WARNING VIDEO CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE
Whether you like this song or not it is refreshing to listen to a rap artist talk about something besides how many gold chains they own or what fancy sports car their driving. Macklemore, so far has stayed true to his unique style and if he keeps at it he’ll go far in the Industry.
Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream Trailer
Beyonce has been everywhere this past month. First, it was her performance on the super bowl, now her documentary has made its debut on HBO and she was on the Own network talking to the fabulous Oprah about her crazy life. I’ve seen the documentary and if you are a Beyonce fan then I suggest you do the same. She opens up about her feelings on some of the publicized experiences that made the news regarding her life and reveals some secrets that I couldn’t believe she kept hidden for so long. Most of it takes place during her pregnancy and I’ve never witness women so happy to just be with child. So big props to Beyonce for staying strong and proving to Wendy Williams that she doesn’t sound like a high school teenager when she speaks.

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans
Blue jeans, White shirt
Walked into the room you know you made my eyes burn
It was like James Dean, for sure
You so fresh to death & sick as ca-cancer
You were sorta punk rock, I grew up on hip hop
But you fit me better than my favorite sweater, and I know
That love is mean, and love hurts
But I still remember that day we met in December, oh baby!
I will love you till the end of time
I would wait a million years
Promise you'll remember that you're mine
Baby can you see through the tears?
Love you more
Than those bitches before
Say you'll remember, oh baby, say you'll remember
I will love you till the end of time
Big dreams, gangster
Said you had to leave to start your life over
I was like: "no please, stay here,"
We don't need no money we can make it all work
But he headed out on Sunday, said he'd come home Monday
I stayed up waitin', anticipatin' and pacin' but he was
Chasing paper
"Caught up in the game" that was the last I heard
I will love you till the end of time
I would wait a million years
Promise you'll remember that you're mine
Baby can you see through the tears?
Love you more
Than those bitches before
Say you'll remember, oh baby, say you'll remember
I will love you till the end of time
You went out every night
And baby that's alright
I told you that no matter what you did I'd be by your side
Cause Ima ride or die
Whether you fail or fly
Well shit, at least you tried.
But when you walked out that door, a piece of me died
I told you I wanted more-but that not what I had in mind
I just want it like before
We were dancin' all night
Then they took you away- stole you out of my life
You just need to remember...
I will love you till the end of time
I would wait a million years
Promise you'll remember that you're mine
Baby can you see through the tears?
Love you more
Than those bitches before
Say you'll remember, oh baby, say you'll remember

Van Morrison- I'll be your lover, Too
I first came in contact with this song in 2000 at the end of
the movie “Proof of life” with Meg Ryan and Russell Crow. Back then I was
really young and my only interest in music was rap, primarily Eminem. Don’t get
me wrong I still love rap music and Eminem, I’m just saying I was musically
limited to what my peers were listening to and needless to say, Van Morrison wasn’t
it. Years later I was trying to find a cheap way for a broke unemployed 19 year
old to get her parents a gift. What that
means is Mix tape! I knew they always loved this song, but had no idea who the
artist was or even its name. After I did
some careful internet digging I found who the artist was along with the title and
downloaded it on my IPod, burnt a CD then gifted it to my parents. Putting my
IPod on shuffle many times, this song would pop up and it grew on me, as some
songs do. Now it is one of my top favorites and I never get tired of listening
to it. It also expanded my musical taste and allowed me to discover other music
that normally I wouldn’t even considered.
